Doctor calls for override of Bill 185 veto

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — The veto of Bill 185 was expected and while the governor said her life isn’t any easier, a local doctor is adamant that senators need to override her decision. Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero, in big letters, wrote “VETO” on the signature page of the certification of Bill 185’s passage in the Legislature.

Senators weigh next steps on hospital, Barnett prepares for veto override

The question of where to build a new public hospital is back in the Legislature’s court, with the governor vetoing Sen. Chris Barnett’s Bill 185-37, which seeks to place it at Ypao Point in Tamuning. Unless the governor’s pick for a hospital site changes, it will be political maneuvering among senators that decides the stalemate.

Governor vetoes bill that ID's Ypao Point as new Guam Memorial Hospital site
